2 dead and one injured after car explosion at Canadian border Rainbow Bridge
An investigation has been launched after a vehicle exploded near the famous Rainbow Bridge, a vital link between Canada and the USA, and it has been learned that the two people in the vehicle involved in this mysterious incident are believed to have died.

The vehicle was involved in an incident which caused it to explode, and according to initial reports, the vehicle entered the bridge plaza at full speed, crossed the fence separating the ingress and egress lanes before heading towards the inspection lanes.

A U.S. Customs and Border Protection officer was reportedly injured in the blast, but his injuries are not believed to be life-threatening.

The FBI and law enforcement agencies are investigating the so-called vehicle explosion to determine whether it was an accident or a deliberate act.

Numerous security measures have been stepped up at border crossings, in addition to extra precautions taken at airports, including car checks and additional screening of travelers.

In view of the scale of the event, all four Canada-US bridges crossing the Niagara River were closed, including the Peace Bridge and the Lewiston Queenston.

These decisions were taken as a precautionary measure while the Rainbow Bridge explosion is being investigated.
