As a kid, I used to sift through books—at least three of them a day—and there were times that I came across titles that were said to be banned. One of those moments came from The Baby-Sitters Club, my favorite series to read (ever), when the book Mary Anne and the Library Mystery mentioned To Kill a Mockingbird as one of the titles parents wanted removed from a library. Naturally, little bookworm me was fascinated! Turns out, people have been having that exact reaction for centuries, as banned, burned, seized, and censored books often became even more famous afterward.
