The story of Michael Oher and the Tuohy family, depicted in the 2009 film The Blind Side and starring Sandra Bullock, has made headlines as the former NFL star accuses his adoptive family of taking financial advantage of him.

But while Michael Oher claims that the parents who supposedly adopted him would have instead taken advantage of him and his success via a guardianship contract, the family counters by claiming that Oher would have instead tried to extort $15 million from them just before these allegations became public!

"The idea that the family ever sought to profit off Mr. Oher is not only offensive, it is transparently ridiculous," says the attorney representing the Tuohys.

"In reality, the Tuohys opened their home to Mr. Oher, offered him structure, support and, most of all, unconditional love. ..."

"They have consistently treated him like a son and one of their three children. His response was to threaten them, including saying that he would plant a negative story about them in the press unless they paid him $15 million." say the Tuohy's lawyers.

According to Page Six, a source close to Bullock says she's absolutely distraught by the allegations and heartbroken.

"There was so much hard work put into the film that they all though was the truth and now that has been questioned..."

"...it just upsets Sandra to no end that a time in her life was so special, is now shadowed with a completely different perspective." says a source close to the star.

This scandal comes at a very bad time for the star, who has just lost her lover Bryan Randall, who died after a tough battle with ALS.
