The European Union says it still sees no real indication that Russia is ready to end the war in Ukraine, despite five days of US-brokered peace talks held in Geneva.

European Commission spokesperson Anouar El Anouni warned that «Nothing can be decided about Ukraine without Europe at the negotiating table» and added that the bloc does not see «tangible signs» Moscow is «engaging seriously on peace.»

The talks, involving Ukrainian and Russian delegations alongside US mediation, followed earlier negotiations in Abu Dhabi that produced a prisoner swap. But as leaders assess the latest round, frustration is growing in Brussels, where officials fear diplomacy is stalling while attacks continue.
