Trump Goes Berserk Again After CNN Reporter Asking About Natalie Harp

Donald Trump lashed out again at a female CNN reporter, this time targeting Kristen Holmes after she questioned him in the Oval Office about recent remarks concerning his relationship with close aide Natalie Harp. Harp’s proximity to Trump has attracted growing attention, and the president appeared unwilling to directly address the question.

Instead of discussing his relationship with Harp, Trump repeatedly told Holmes to be quiet as she attempted to continue her questioning. The exchange quickly became personal, with Trump attacking the journalist and dismissing her reporting as fake news. The confrontation would later extend beyond the Oval Office as the White House publicly targeted Holmes.

The question originated with Democratic Sen. Jon Ossoff of Georgia, who brought Harp into a broader attack on Trump during a campaign rally. Ossoff accused Trump of being more interested in his personal pursuits than presidential responsibilities while criticizing his handling of the ongoing war involving Iran and the president’s time spent golfing.

«While the sailors on the Lincoln fight his war, while he fruitlessly drains our munitions and oil reserves, the president sleeps through his meetings, he golfs, and trades stocks,» Ossoff said. The senator then added: «He doesn’t want to do the job.» His criticism soon shifted directly toward Harp and her proximity to Trump.

Ossoff continued his attack with the remark that Holmes would later raise with Trump. «He wants to build his ballroom and travel with Natalie on their apparently defenseless flying palace gifted by the Emir of Qatar,» the senator said, connecting Harp to his criticism of Trump’s priorities and conduct while serving as president.

The remark followed growing attention surrounding Harp’s frequent presence alongside Trump, including during an unusual security operation in Turkey. Amid a reported Iranian threat, Trump secretly transferred from Air Force One to another military aircraft. Harp was among the small group accompanying him, while journalists and some White House personnel remained aboard Air Force One.

When Holmes asked Trump about Ossoff’s remarks during the Oval Office event, the president initially avoided addressing the substance of the question. Instead, Trump mocked the Democratic senator as a «Pee-wee Herman lookalike.» As Holmes continued trying to question him, Trump shifted his attention toward the CNN correspondent and the interaction became increasingly confrontational.

Trump repeatedly interrupted Holmes, telling her, «Quiet, you’re very disrespectful,» before asking which network she represented. After learning she was with CNN, Trump responded, «Fake news.» He continued attacking Holmes directly, telling her, «You’re a loud, boisterous person. You’re fake news. Be quiet,» before later describing her as a «fake reporter».

The confrontation continued online after the event. The White House Rapid Response 47 account described Holmes as a «disgraceful, humiliating embarrassment to her alleged profession» and accused her of taking a «cheap shot» during an event honoring teenage lifeguard Ryder Williams. The account went further, declaring: «These scumbags are the lowest of the low.»

Another White House message made the attack even more personal by invoking Holmes’s family. «Someday, your children will come across your disgusting and inhumane question. They will be sickened and embarrassed to have a parent be so callous and vindictive. It’s quite troubling.» CNN subsequently defended Holmes and condemned the administration’s response to her questioning.

CNN described Holmes as «one of the most respected and accomplished journalists covering the White House» and said the personal attacks were «beneath the office and inconsistent with the principles of a free press.» Harp, meanwhile, remains one of Trump’s closest aides, but publicly available reporting has not established that their relationship extends beyond a professional one.
