Florida woman goes to Papa John’s. Um, why is literally no one in here?

A Florida woman's trip to a Papa John's location took an unexpected turn after she claimed she walked into the restaurant and couldn't find a single employee.

The video was shared online by Andrea McLamoren @drayadoeslife and viewed 29,000 times. In the viral clip, the woman explained that this was actually her second visit to Papa John's that day.  The restaurant had previously messed up another order. However, when she returned to the store, the experience became even more unusual.

Andrea turned her camera toward the seemingly empty restaurant. She said she called out, “Hello,” but received no response.

Then she noticed something that made the situation even stranger. Food was still coming out of the conveyor oven.

The video appeared to show a pizza and wings sitting at the edge of the oven as they made their way to the end of the cooking process. Andrea explained that she stopped recording just before the wings appeared to fall.

Not long afterward, the camera captured the pizza reaching the end of the conveyor and falling off the edge.

Viewers Have Plenty to Say

The unusual scene quickly prompted viewers to share their own experiences with seemingly understaffed franchise locations.

One commenter, @JessieF, wrote, “I watched the same thing happen at Domino's in Mt. P.”

Another commenter, @J. Taylor  appeared to blame staffing pressures and wrote, “Corporate short staffing is stressing everyone out.”

Meanwhile, @Angel  joked about the situation and suggested taking matters into your own hands: “Might as well go back there make my own and pay myself.”

The video doesn't establish exactly where the employees were. Or why no one responded when she called out. It certainly left viewers questioning the staffing situation.

Not the First Restaurant Staffing Video to Go Viral

The unusual Papa John's encounter comes amid a history of restaurant staffing situations becoming social-media sensations. In 2022, two Domino's managers went viral after filming themselves walking out during a dinner rush.  They claimed to be overwhelmed and operating the store with only two people preparing orders and one delivery driver. The video reportedly received nearly 3 million views.

Other restaurants have experienced similar viral moments. In 2025, a Burger King employee gained widespread attention after saying she was left to run a busy location alone.

Again in 2026, a similar restaurant mystery previously went viral on TikTok when two women claimed they were left alone inside an empty Waffle House. In the video, one woman was seen cooking a steak on a restaurant burner while the other filmed the seemingly deserted kitchen. The original video received over 2.7 million views.

Ultimately, the video leaves more questions than answers. Whether this was an isolated situation, a staffing issue, or simply a moment that looked stranger on camera than it was in real life.  

The unexpected sight of pizzas rolling out of an apparently empty Papa John's was enough to leave the internet asking the same question: Why did nobody catch the pizza?
