A newcomer in 2023. The Tonale is a small SUV that can come with a plug-in hybrid (PHEV) powertrain or a 2.0-liter turbocharged gasoline engine. Both models offer all-wheel drive. The Tonale will arrive in dealerships in early 2023. Price: N/A

BMW X1

The BMW X1 is redesigned for 2023. It gains in power and size. It uses a 2.0-liter twin-turbocharged four-cylinder engine and a seven-speed four-wheel automatic transmission. For the first time, the X1 is available with an adaptive suspension.Price: $48,142

BMW XM

BMW introduced the XM concept last year. It is now going into production. The launch version will have a plug-in hybrid powertrain with 644 horsepower and 650 lb-ft, while the 750-horsepower version is expected later in 2023.Price: $220,000

Cadillac Lyriq

The Lyriq is a fully electric SUV. Compared to the conventional gasoline-powered XT5, the Lyriq is 180 mm longer. The Lyriq is powered by a 100 kWh nickel-cobalt-manganese-aluminum battery pack. Power is rated at 340 horsepower, and range is expected to reach 480 kilometers. Price: $70,148

Chevrolet Blazer EV

A new electric mid-size SUV, the Blazer EV will take on the Ford Mustang Mach-E, the Volkswagen ID.4 and the Hyundai-Kia pair. Two range versions are offered, 472km or 515km. Price: $54,548

Chevrolet Equinox EV

This small electric SUV will be offered in two configurations: the front-wheel drive versions develop 210 horsepower and the all-wheel drive versions develop 290 horsepower. The announced range varies from 402 to 482 km. Only the 2RS version will be available at dealerships in the fall. The other versions will be available in the spring of 2024. Price: ND

Dodge Hornet

The Hornet is a newcomer to the performance-oriented sporty compact SUV segment. All-wheel drive is standard. Two powertrains are offered: The GT features a 2.0-liter turbocharged four-cylinder engine with 268 horsepower. The R/T Plug-In Hybrid has 288 combined horsepower, thanks to a 1.3-liter turbocharged four-cylinder engine that runs in parallel with an electric motor. Price: $39,900

Ferrari Purosangue

This is Ferrari's very first SUV. The Purosangue features a naturally aspirated 6.5-liter V12 engine that produces 715 horsepower and 528 pound-feet of torque, the most power ever achieved by a naturally aspirated Ferrari. Price: Over $500,000

Fisker Ocean

Fisker introduces its electric SUV, Ocean. It features a sunroof and a 17-inch center touchscreen that can be rotated 90 degrees for horizontal or vertical viewing. The interior is made with recycled materials. Offering all-wheel drive, it can come with a range of 402 or 482 km. Price: $43,999

Genesis GV60

The GV60 is Genesis' first electric vehicle. This SUV is built on the same platform as the Hyundai Ioniq 5 and the Kia EV6. With its all-wheel drive system, the total power output of the system is 429 horsepower. Price: $71,000

Honda CR-V

The CR-V is completely redesigned for 2023. Honda has added new standard safety features, more comfort and improved fuel efficiency. A hybrid engine is introduced. Price: $36,855

Honda HR-V

The Honda HR-V, a sub-compact SUV receives a major overhaul in 2023 that includes a new 2.0-liter engine that produces 158 horsepower and 138 lb-ft. Price: $30,795

Kia Niro

New for 2023, the new Niro changes mainly in the exterior design, while its interior is modernized. The base Niro gets the same 1.6-liter hybrid configuration as last year, with 139 hp. Price: ND

Kia Sportage

The new Sportage went on sale in spring 2022.The new model is 175 mm longer and slightly wider and taller. The only powertrain available is a 187-horsepower, naturally aspirated 2.5-liter four-cylinder. Price: $31,209

Land Rover Range Rover

The new Range Rover is as always ultra luxurious. It now offers four, five and seven seats (a third row of seats). It is available as a hybrid with an in-line six-cylinder and a twin-turbo V8, or as a plug-in hybrid (with an estimated electric range of 77 km). A fully electric version will follow in the future. Land Rover Range Rover Sport

Smaller than the Range Rover, the Sport model also offers a variety of powertrains, including a hybrid, premium equipment and ultra-smooth styling. An all-electric version will join the lineup in 2024. Price: $126,550

Lexus RX

The redesigned 2023 RX will offer four new powertrains: A 275-horsepower, 2.4-liter turbocharged four-cylinder engine. A 246-horsepower, 2.5-liter four-cylinder hybrid. A 367-horsepower turbocharged 2.4-liter four-cylinder hybrid and a plug-in hybrid version that will arrive later. Price: ND

Lexus RZ

This is the brand's first full electric vehicle. It is the brother of the battery powered RX. It will be available later this year. Price: ND

Maserati Grecale

The Grecale (Mediterranean wind) is a bit larger than the traditional small luxury SUV. There are three trims (GT, Modena, and Trofeo) and three powertrains to start with, with four-cylinder engines of 296 and 325 horsepower, and a turbocharged V6 with 523 horsepower. Price: $75,200

Mercedes-Benz EQE SUV

After the launch of the EQS, Mercedes will launch this year another electric SUV, but smaller, the EQE. The base model will offer 288 horsepower, while the AMG version could reach 671 horsepower in peak version. Price: ND

Mercedes-Benz EQS SUV

The new Mercedes-Benz EQS offers all the opulence and engineering marvels you'd expect from the German brand. It offers three rows of seats. In terms of powertrain, it can be delivered with either a rear-wheel drive or 4Matic four-wheel drive configuration. Price: ND

Mercedes-Benz GLC

The redesigned GLC in 2023 comes with a number of technology updates. There's now wireless Android Auto and Apple CarPlay functionality, and a voice-activated infotainment system.Price: $51,600

Nissan Ariya

This is Nissan's first electric SUV. It's available with two powertrains: a 238-horsepower single-motor front-wheel drive and a 389-horsepower dual-motor all-wheel drive configuration. The single-motor version has a range of 482 km, while the dual-motor version has 427 km. Price: N/A

Polestar 3

The new Polestar 3 is the brand's first electric SUV, joining the current Polestar 2 sedan. It borrows elements from the 2 sedan, including single- and dual-motor arrangements. Price: $97,400

Subaru Solterra

The Solterra is Subaru's first electric vehicle. A cousin of the new Toyota bZ4X, this SUV features Subaru's legendary symmetrical all-wheel drive system. The Solterra offers 210 mm of ground clearance and short overhangs to help overcome small obstacles. Price: N/A

Toyota bZ4X

The all-new Toyota bZ4X is an electric SUV that will only be sold in Quebec and British Columbia. The bZ4X is longer than a RAV4 but shorter than the Highlander. The bZ4X with front wheel drive can travel up to 389 kilometers and up to 357 kilometers with all wheel drive. Price: N/A

Toyota Sequoia

The redesigned Sequoia is a full-size, three-row SUV with a 3.5-liter turbocharged V6 engine that produces 437 horsepower. It has a maximum towing capacity of 9,000 pounds. Price: $78,379
