This year, the film Barbie is the evening's biggest contender. Directed by Greta Gerwig, it received no less than nine nominations.

It is up for honors such as Best Musical or Comedy Film, Best Director (Greta Gerwig), Best Original Screenplay, Best Actress (Margot Robbie), Best Supporting Actor (Ryan Gosling), as well as three nominations for Best Original Song. Barbie is also up for recognition for best cinematography and box-office performance.
Oppenheimer has 8 nominations!

The historical drama Oppenheimer follows close behind with eight nominations. It is the favorite to win Best Dramatic Film.
Christopher Nolan is nominated for Best Director!

Oppenheimer is also nominated in the categories of Best Director (Christopher Nolan), Best Original Screenplay, Best Actor (Cillian Murphy), Best Supporting Actor (Robert Downey Jr.), Best Supporting Actress (Emily Blunt), Best Soundtrack, as well as for recognitions related to best cinematography and box-office performance.
Succession has 9 nominations!

On the TV side of things, HBO series Succession is the leading nominee, with nine nominations, including Best Drama Series, Best Actor (Brian Cox, Jeremy Strong and Kieran Culkin), Best Drama Actress (Sarah Snook). Alexander Skarsgard, Matthew Macfadyen and J. Smith-Cameron are nominated for Best Actor and Best Supporting Actress.

Hollywood's finest will be on hand to present the awards. Media mogul Oprah Winfrey joins the list of presenters alongside Amanda Seyfried, Will Ferrell, Florence Pugh and many others. The ceremony will be hosted by actor and comedian Jo Koy.

Several changes will be offered at this year's ceremony, as the Golden Globes jury has expanded in recent years from 80 to 300 journalists. The Cecil B. DeMille Award and the Carol Burnett Award will not be presented this year.

Most importantly, this year's Golden Globes will inaugurate two new award categories: Best Achievement in Motion Picture and Box Office, and Best Performance in a Stand-up Comedy or Television Show.
Taylor Swift's Eras Tour will compete against

Renowned comedians such as Ricky Gervais, Trevor Noah, Chris Rock, Amy Schumer, Sarah Silverman and Wanda Sykes will be vying for the first-ever statuette in this new category, while Taylor Swift's concert film version of Eras Tour will compete fiercely against the biggest films in the Best Achievement in Cinematography and Box Office categories.
