Skims, Kim Kardashian‘s underwear company, recently came up with a brand new campaign to celebrate the launch of a bra collection, and it looks great! A few celebrities participated in the campaign, such as actress Brooke Shields and singer Becky G, but what is more noticeable is the participation of 50 women from all walks of life and all ages.
Several videos have been shared on Skims’ Instagram account, and we can see the different participants confiding in each other about their relationship with their bodies and breasts. A nice diversity is present, and the cast even includes a woman who suffered from breast cancer.
Actress Chelsea Handler, one of the campaign’s headliners, explains that “it took her 40 years to really understand that [her] breasts are great.” And in a way, we understand that feeling! Breasts have multiple functions and can cause discomfort and even dysmorphia. Living with your breasts can be difficult at times, and it will be different for each person.
Of course, we don’t lose sight of the fact that this is a nice marketing stunt for Kim Kardashian’s company, but in today’s society, it’s still refreshing and inspiring to see women from different backgrounds and with unique bodies being put forward like this. It reminds us that all bodies are beautiful, no matter their shape or color.
Skims’ new line of bras will launch on September 27th with 15 different styles in a neutral color palette. In Canada, the Skims brand can be purchased online or in-store at Holt Renfrew.
