A standing ovation and a beautiful moment for Michael J. Fox

Michael J. Fox was warmly acclaimed at the BAFTA Awards 2024. His surprise entrance drew a moving and poignant ovation, as the actor was greeted by enthusiastic applause from celebrities attending the ceremony.

The Canadian-American actor, now 62, was hailed as a hero in the eyes of the public, both for his cinematic achievements and for his courageous battle against Parkinson’s disease, first diagnosed in 1990.

Fox presented the Best Film award at this prestigious event, where competition was intense between Oppenheimer, Anatomy of a Fall, Killers of the Flower Moon, The Holdovers and Poor Things.

Christopher Nolan’s Oppenheimer was the eventual winner.

Michael J. Fox’s positivity and resilience in the face of his diagnosis is on display in Still, A Michael J. Fox Movie on Apple TV+, which was nominated for Best Documentary at the BAFTAs!

The Michael J. Fox Foundation for Parkinson’s Research was created in 2000 by the actor, and has since raised over a billion dollars.
