Phase 2 clinical trial results for this vaccine were encouraging, in participants with advanced melanoma. The combination of Keytruda treatment and mRNA vaccine demonstrated a significant 49% reduction in the risk of disease recurrence or death, as well as a 62% reduction in distant tumor spread or death at 3-year follow-up. Patients treated with both Keytruda and the mRNA vaccine had significantly lower risks of recurrence and death than those treated with Keytruda alone.

Around 500 participants will be selected for the start of phase 3 of the clinical trial, in the hope that this more extensive investigation will confirm the vaccine's efficacy.
