Discriminatory propaganda?

Mexican President Claudia Sheinbaum is revolting against an ad she deems propaganda from the Trump administration. Sheinbaum says the U.S. propaganda ad crosses the line and has been shown all over Mexico. Claudia Sheinbaum denounces the Trump administration’s advertising campaign and labels it as “discriminatory propaganda”.
A threatening message

At the same time, Sheinbaum announced its intention to ban the ad, featuring the U.S. Department of Homeland Security and Kristi Noem, who recently crossed the border into Mexico to send migrants a threatening message: “We will hunt you down”.
To foreign governments

This publicity also prompted Sheinbaum to announce reform proposals aimed at prohibiting foreign governments from broadcasting what they consider political or ideological propaganda in Mexico.
During a soccer match

The ad featuring Kristi Noem was aired during a prime-time soccer match.
Broadcast throughout Mexico

Claudia Sheinbaum claims that this same advert was also broadcast on the radio and relayed on social networks.
Mexico "does not agree"

She insists that Mexico “does not agree” with this aggressive propaganda and message aimed at the migrant population.
A drop?

According to CNN, however, the Trump administration and the Department of Homeland Security said they are satisfied with the effect of the ad, claiming that there is an overall drop in border crossings, without specifically mentioning Mexico.
A direct link?

However, no tangible evidence was presented to establish a direct link between the drop in sailings and the advertising campaign, rather than economic tensions, including tariffs wars.
Even Canadians don't cross the border anymore!

These economic tensions coincide with a clear decline in the general interest in staying in the United States, seen worldwide, including at the Canadian border. This trend was accentuated after several of Trump’s offensive statements about Canada, which led many Canadians to boycott the United States.
