As Trump shakes up the CIA, multiple agents are worried for their safety

In response to a recent decree from the Trump administration aimed at reducing federal staff, the CIA has shared information about its new employees, risking the identification of these individuals should this data become compromised.

The employees targeted by this unsecured email, including all recruits from the intelligence agency over the past two years, are said to have been engaged in intelligence missions abroad, particularly in China.

Their identity, which had until now been strictly protected due to attempts by Chinese hackers to identify them, is now exposed, potentially putting their security at risk.

While the Trump administration and the CIA downplay the impact of the unsecured distribution of this document, which could easily fall into the wrong hands, intelligence experts emphasize the seriousness of the situation. 

They warn that such an action should not be taken lightly and describe it as a “counterintelligence disaster.”

Remember that upon his inauguration on January 20, Donald Trump signed the “Decree on the Reduction and Efficiency of the Federal Workforce”, aimed at significantly reducing the workforce of federal agencies.

This measure, which includes national security entities like the CIA, is justified by the Trump administration as an effort to improve government efficiency.

The Trump administration also established a voluntary resignation program allowing federal employees, including those from intelligence agencies, to leave their positions immediately while continuing to be paid until September 2025.

This initiative, led by John Ratcliffe, recently confirmed as head of the CIA, is part of the government restructuring orchestrated by Elon Musk and responds to the requirements of the Trump administration regarding workforce reduction and personnel renewal.

Donald Trump and his team are closely watched and heavily criticized for the implementation of their measures, deemed radical since they took office. 

Many had anticipated that these hasty decisions, particularly the reduction of federal personnel, would risk undermining national security, as evidenced by the disclosure of sensitive information about new agents.
