The right-handed golfer, currently ranked number 2 in the world, is making a good start at PGA Tour and joins the dissident circuit which attracts more and more big names.
Like the other golfers before him, Cameron Smith accepted a huge sum of money from the new circuit to leave the PGA Tour. He joins a growing contingent that includes Phil Mickelson, Dustin Johnson, Bryson DeChambeau and Brooks Koepka among others.
The loss of Cameron Smith to the PGA Tour is significant. The 29-year-old Australian has been on the rise. He has won three of his six tour events this year, including the most recent British Open and Players Championship.
The next event on the LIV Golf Tour will be in Boston next weekend.
