George Floyd’s family sues Kanye West for $250M

The family of the late George Floyd has spoken out about Kanye West‘s words about Floyd last week, a response that that came in the form of a $250 million lawsuit.

Beforehand, a demand letter was sent to Kanye West, Variety and TMZ reported, among other things, following the release of an official press release.

West offered a very distressing speech about the death of Floyd, who was killed by police officer Derek Chauvin in May 2020, saying that Floyd died of a fentanyl overdose, and therefore not murdered by Officer Chauvin.

It is the mother of George’s daughter, Roxie Washington, who decided to file a complaint, through her lawyers, against Kanye West. On behalf of her daughter, she is seeking $250 million in damages, for harassment, defamation and emotional distress.

Roxie stressed that the interest of the child was priority. The latter would also be traumatized again by Ye’s comments, which tried to minimize the life of George Floyd…

Since then, the Drink Champs show, where West displayed these disgraceful comments, has been removed from YouTube and other places where it is broadcast.
