Kamala Harris’ 60 Minutes interview was not an easy one

As rival Donald Trump pulled out of his CBS 60 Minutes interview, Vice President and Democratic nominee Kamalah Harris was questioned intensely by Bill Whitaker on several topics important to voters, including her economic plan, border security, foreign relations and gun ownership.

Harris, who was roundly criticized by the opposing party for not doing an interview, made a point of pointing out to voters at the end of the interview that even if she had participated, they should ask themselves what it means to them that Trump chose not to participate in the interview himself.

With the election less than a month away, Kamala Harris has embarked on an extensive media campaign to address voters and get a head start in her very close race against former President Donald Trump.

The Vice President was subjected to intense questioning on a variety of topics, including the Biden administration’s approach to border security during her tenure.

She noted that immigration was a long-standing problem and that the number of illegal border crossings had recently declined. Harris also stressed the need for Congress to act…

Also asked about the conflicts in the Middle East, Kamala Harris declared that this war must end, while asserting that Israel had the right to defend itself. She also said that too many innocent Palestinians had lost their lives in the conflict.

Regarding the U.S. relationship with Prime Minister Netanyahu, she stressed the importance of the alliance between the American people and the Israeli people.

Although the economy is improving, the cost of groceries remains high, according to Kamala Harris, who said that this problem must be forward. She added that, as part of her plan, measures are planned to bring down the price of groceries.

She also pointed out that unemployment in the United States is currently historically low among all population groups, and that the economy is thriving according to all macroeconomic indicators.

When asked how she planned to fund her various economic plans, which could add $3 trillion to the federal deficit over the next decade-an amount that remains lower than Donald Trump’s proposal, that said, and which includes the child tax credit, the first-time homebuyer credit and financial assistance to start a small business-Harris stressed that it was time for the wealthiest among us to pay our fair share of taxes.

Kamala Harris said there are many leaders in Congress who understand that Trump’s tax cuts have significantly increased our federal deficit.

Asked whether or not Congress would approve her proposals, Harris said she sees herself as both a staunch public servant and a capitalist, while also being aware of the limits of government.

She added that many people in Congress know exactly what she’s talking about, and that their constituents do too.
