Laurent Duvernay-Tardif retires

“Sometimes I still can’t believe the opportunity I’ve had.”

Laurent Duvernay-Tardif is officially retiring from the NFL after nine seasons in the league.

The man who has already won a Super Bowl with the Kansas City Chiefs seems to have other projects in mind, and we imagine it’s time for the doctor to devote himself to medicine.

So it’s with thanks to his agent Sasha, his lover Florence, Coach Reid, the Chiefs, the Jets, McGill University and Quebec fans for supporting him throughout his sporting career, that he now retires – a well-deserved retirement for the player.

“I’ve been lucky enough to play in the NFL for 9 years now, and sometimes I still can’t believe the opportunity I’ve had to live this adventure. Being a professional athlete is a privilege, as well as an enriching human and personal experience. The victories, defeats and injuries have all been opportunities to learn to win and lose as a team while managing great emotions,” reads his Instagram post.

Laurent Duvernay-Tardif played a total of 79 games in the NFL, including 71 as a starter. A great career for this top-level athlete!

Please note that the player will take part in a press conference this Thursday (September 21) at 2 p.m. to officially announce his retirement and provide further details.
