A state of emergency has been declared in Los Angeles, as powerful wildfires ravage the region and countless homes. Many celebrities have been affected by this natural disaster. Here are a few of them.
Ben Affleck
Ben Affleck bought his 6,200-square-foot studio home on July 24 for $20.5 million (US). The house was built in the early 1940s.
Tom Hanks and Rita Wilson
The couple of 36 years bought their mansion in 2010 for $26 million, having built it in 1996 in the Pacific Palisades area. The 14,513-square-foot residence boasts four bedrooms and five bathrooms.
Spencer Pratt
Pratt, a figure in American television, notably in The Princess of Malibu and Celebrity Big Brother, and his wife Heidi Montag, lost their home in Pacific Palisades to flames.
James Woods
The 77-year-old actor who starred in Casino, among other films, also had to evacuate his home in Pacific Palisades. Woods shared several photos on social networks, to highlight the good work of the first responders.
Jhene Aiko and Big Sean
Owners of a mansion since 2023, the vocalist couple had spent $5.6 million to afford a home with five bedrooms, five bathrooms, a pickleball court and a swimming pool.
Miles Teller and Keleigh Sperry
Miles Teller, along with his wife Keleigh Sperry, had purchased a mansion for $7.5 million in March 2023. The 6,622-square-foot home, assembled in 2015, has five bedrooms, seven bathrooms and several family rooms.
Eugene Levy
Eugene Levy has lived in his home since 2006, formerly obtained for $2.4 million. Aged 78, Levy, nicknamed the honorary mayor of Pacific Palisades, experienced worrying traffic jams due to fleeing residents, before he himself was able to leave the neighborhood, he says.
Khawi Leonard
The NBA star of the Los Angeles Clippers bought an 11,815-square-foot property in 2021, which includes seven bedrooms, 12 bathrooms, a game room, a bar and a gym. He bought the mansion for $17 million from Ryan Kavanaugh, an influential producer.
Steve Guttenberg
The 66-year-old star of Police Academy, who has been affected by fires, decided to help the fire department by moving cars abandoned on the road, in order to facilitate the movement of fire trucks. A hero on screen and in real life, obviously.
