Shannen Doherty’s death generates a wave of tributes and love

Former colleagues of Shannen Doherty, who died at the age of 53 after a long battle with cancer, paid her a moving tribute on social networks. Doherty rose to fame with Beverly Hills 90210, then Charmed.

Jason Priestley, who played Brandon Walsh, son twin brother, in Beverly Hills 90210, expressed his deep sadness on Instagram.

Many other close friends of Doherty’s shared their feelings for the actress and their memories of her.

Jennie Garth, who played Kelly Taylor, shared her grief, emphasizing the bond they shared in life despite the rivalry their characters displayed on TV. Garth says she has barely begun the grieving process for the loss of her good friend Shannen. She also stresses that their friendship was based on mutual respect and admiration.

Tori Spelling, another 90210 co-worker, shared a photo accompanied by heartbreak emojis.

Doherty’s passing was also noted by the cast of Charmed. Rose McGowan, the actress who replaced Shannen Doherty on the show, paid tribute to the late star, as did Alyssa Milano, with whom she shared a complex relationship, acknowledged the strength and talent of her work.

Brian Austin Green, who played David Silver in 90210, spoke of Doherty as his sister.

Gabrielle Carteris, who played Andrea Zuckerman, remembered Doherty as well as Luke Perry, who died five years earlier:

Luke’s daughter Sophie Perry also paid tribute to her father by posting a touching photo with Doherty, taken when he and Shannen were working on 90210. She added a simple white heart emoji.

Doherty’s legacy goes beyond acting. Olivia Munn, who had herself been diagnosed with cancer, had received Shannen’s immediate support.

This show of love reflects the influence Shannen Doherty had on those close to her.

She is remembered as a courageous, passionate and determined woman.
