‘Summer Breeze’ hitmaker Dash Crofts dead at 87

Dash Crofts, American musician best known as one half of the soft rock duo Seals & Crofts, alongside Jim Seals, has died, NBC confirms.

The pair rose to fame in the 1970s with their distinctive blend of folk, rock, and pop harmonies. 

Crofts, a skilled mandolin and guitar player, helped craft hits like Summer Breeze, Diamond Girl, and Get Closer, songs that became staples of the era’s easy-listening sound. 

Known for their smooth melodies and spiritual influences, the duo earned a devoted following. 

Beyond music, Crofts was also recognized for his faith and personal convictions. 

Dash Crofts was 87.
