A large number of Washington Post employees and subscribers have expressed to Jeff Bezos, CEO of Amazon and now owner of the paper, their disagreement with his recent decision not to support the editorial section endorsement of Kamala Harris and not to endorse any candidate at all in the US presidential elections.

According to CNN, a third of the Washington Post’s editorial staff resigned (!) due to Bezos’ controversial and sudden decision, announced just days before the election date.

We also learn that a wave of unsubscribes has also been seen among regular Washington Post readers, with around 200,000 people reported to have unsubscribed since the news was posted, according to CNN and NPR.

Jeff Bezos tried to explain his decision in an opinion piece in which he says he chose to remain neutral because, in his view, the media has lost credibility. He believes that this decision could help improve the credibility of the Washington Post.

However, it has also come to light that at the same time as the Washington Post’s controversial announcement, last Friday, executive members of Blue Origin, the US aerospace manufacturer founded by Bezos, had a meeting scheduled with Donald Trump.

Bezos denied having been informed of the meeting.
