In comparison, Joe Biden’s inauguration in 2021 attracted nearly 34 million people in front of their screens. This marked difference of nearly 10 million viewers represents a significant decrease of 27% for Trump.

Trump’s inauguration seems to have generated less public interest and attracted reduced media attention, despite the communication efforts made by his team. This may reflect the current political climate and the low enthusiasm of the population towards the newly elected president, apart from his devoted base of supporters.

In contrast, Joe Biden’s inauguration, who won the election against Donald Trump amidst a context of strong political polarization and after the significant events of January 6, 2021, generated keen interest due to the exceptional circumstances surrounding his rise to power.

The outdoor event of the 2025 inauguration ceremony has been canceled by Trump and his team due to… a cold wave hitting the Washington region.

This decision left supporters who had traveled with no alternative, forcing them to return home without participating in the planned festivities.

One thing is clear: Trump generates much less interest than during his spectacular beginnings in politics, when he defied the odds by defeating Hillary Clinton.

At the time, his inauguration attracted 30 million viewers, which is 6 million more than his official entry into office in 2025.
