The U.S. president mentioned that he may be planning to put the brakes on the NFL’s Washington Commanders by virtue of building a new ŝtadiu.
The return of the Redskins?

Trump has asked the organization to go back to the source, to re-name themselves the Redskins, as he feels this is an important legacy, one that has been taken away from indigenous nations.

Note that the Redskins name disappeared in 2022, as did that of the Cleveland Indians (MLB), now known as the Guardians, considering all the criticism of racial offenses over the years.
The value of original names?

The septuagenarian firmly believes that the original names of these two franchises are more valuable than the ones they currently bear.
An agreement

A new stadium is due to be built on the site of the old RFK Stadium, so the Commanders and the District of Columbia government have an agreement in place to see the project through.

And given this contract, Trump would be somewhat restricted in maneuvering costs to block construction of the stadium in question, even though the land belongs to the District of Columbia, courtesy of Joe Biden during his past term.
