Yes, Facebook and Instagram are down (worldwide!)

Unexpected outages at Facebook and Instagram have caused frustration and panic among users!

Initial reports already revealed an exceptional number of outages, preventing access to accounts.

These technical problems affected not only the Facebook application, but all Meta services, including WhatsApp Messenger, Threads, Meta Quest headsets and Instagram.

The hashtag #FacebookDown was causing a buzz on alternative social networks, allowing users to express their displeasure… or joy at Meta’s setback.

Meta had not yet given a full explanation at the time of publishing.

No assurances on account security have been given, generating speculation among users.
