Woman goes to Orlando Goodwill. Then she scores the Disney jackpot: ‘Thank you to whoever donated it’
Finding a highly sought-after product at Goodwill can be challenging, with shoppers often walking away empty-handed. But for one woman, a quick trip to a shop in Orlando, Florida, ended up paying off in a big way.
Krista (@kristacreativechaos) posted a video that received more than 336,000 views. In it, she highlighted a jackpot Goodwill find she purchased near Disney World.
Woman Makes Rare Disney Find at Orlando Goodwill
Goodwills and other thrift stores near Orlando's Walt Disney World Resort often have Disney-related products. But according to some online chatter, products are usually sold quickly after donation.
Krista, who recorded a section of her video in a car, said that she found something surprising.
“ I found the greatest thing in Goodwill today, and I just wanna say thank you to whoever donated it, because it is going to make my life so happy,” she said. “ Every hour on the hour, it will be singing Disney tunes in my house.”
She then revealed exactly what she got by panning to another video, which showed that she already had her new item displayed. She found a white SEIKO Disney Time Mickey & Friends Radio Analog Wall Clock, which sings unique melodies.
Viewers joked that the find was surprising. They expected the non-profit organization to put the product on its marketplace, ShopGoodwill, instead of allowing it to sell in-store.
“My goodwill would have never put that out and they would have sold it top price on marketplace,” one viewer said.
ShopGoodwill usually identifies high-value items, placing them up for auction online. Many customers cite this as a reason why some Goodwill locations are particularly devoid of higher-quality products.
Other viewers, however, simply complimented Krista's find.
Another commenter added, “I have a regular seiko clock and I love it so much. This would have been amazing to find!”
How Much Is the SEIKO Clock Worth?
Krista's find isn't just a nice clock; it's also a highly coveted Disney product. On retailers such as eBay, the SEIKO Disney Time Mickey & Friends Radio Analog Wall Clock can cost anywhere from $290 to more than $400.
Viewers who loved the clock said as much.
A commenter said, “So they donated a $400 dollar clock.”
“How does it feel to be God's favorite?” a viewer asked.
A third viewer jokingly added, “Very nice! can I steal it in person, I mean see it.”
