Borderlands unveils explosive first trailer

The highly-anticipated adaptation of the Borderlands video game has been released in the form of a poster and a series of never-before-seen photos. The first trailer now allows fans to discover the rich and chaotic world of Pandora!

Cate Blanchett plays Lilith. She returns to her home planet to find the daughter of Atlas (Edgar Ramirez), a powerful and wealthy tycoon. Lilith joins forces with an unlikely group of characters, including Roland, the determined soldier (Kevin Hart), Tiny Tina, the demolition expert (Ariana Greenblatt), Krieg, Tina’s non-verbal tutor (Florian Munteanu) and Claptrap, the mischievous robot (Jack Black).

Jamie Lee Curtis also adds her talent to the excellent cast as the eccentric scientist Tannis.

The unlikely group of heroes must navigate a dangerous landscape filled with aliens and bandits to find the girl who might have the ability to grant them unimaginable riches. The film is directed by Eli Roth, renowned for his horror films and thrillers.

This trailer captures all the excitement of Borderlands without using the cell-shaded look. Instead, it uses a traditional cinematic style that retains its unique flair for eccentricity.

The film adaptation of Borderlands will hit the big screen on August 9.
