Jeff Bezos unloads $2 billion in Amazon shares

Jeff Bezos, founder of Amazon, has sold a significant proportion of his shares.

Bezos sold nearly 12,000,000 shares between February 7 and 8, 2024, according to an SEC filing. The shares sold would be worth more than two billion dollars!

Mr. Bezos is reportedly planning an even larger sale than the recent one.

An earlier report revealed that Mr. Bezos would consider selling up to 50 million Amazon shares over the next year.

According to the latest Bloomberg Billionaires Index report, Mr. Bezos’ net worth is estimated at $199.5 billion.

This places him in the top ten of the global wealth rankings.

Mr. Bezos is now concentrating on his other businesses, such as Blue Origin, and his philanthropic activities.
