Teslas set on fire with Molotov cocktails in Vegas

A criminal fire ravaged several Tesla vehicles parked in a service center of the brand in Las Vegas. According to initial reports, Molotov cocktails were used to set the cars on fire.

The incident occurred around 2 am, in the Spring Valley neighborhood of Las Vegas. Witnesses reported hearing explosions before seeing flames rise from the parking lot of the Tesla center.

Local police quickly intervened, assisted by firefighters, but several vehicles were completely destroyed while no injuries were reported.

An investigation has been opened and the FBI has been called in, suspecting a coordinated act or potentially linked to a larger movement against Tesla.

For now, no suspect has been arrested, but surveillance cameras captured images of a masked person throwing flammable projectiles before fleeing.

This act is part of a hostile climate towards Elon Musk as several people denounce his controversial positions and his influence on politics and the economy.

Anti-Tesla movements have emerged on social media, calling for a boycott of the brand. The recent actions of Elon Musk, including a salute that delighted Nazi supporters, a gesture denied by Musk, and the retweet of content with Nazi connotations, as well as his aggressive dismantling of government-related services, have intensified general anger.

This is not the first attack against Teslas. In the United States, several vandalism incidents against cars of the brand have been recorded these past months, notably in San Francisco and Portland.

Around the world, similar acts have taken place, notably in Germany, where environmental activists set fire to Tesla vehicles to protest the establishment of a factory.

In response, Tesla stated its intention to strengthen the security of all its facilities, while affirming to closely collaborate with law enforcement to identify the perpetrators. Elon Musk, on his part, qualified the vehicle fire as “terrorism” in a message published on X.

The investigation is ongoing in Las Vegas, and authorities do not rule out that other attacks against Tesla are being planned, in a climate of global tension around the company. The Tesla stock, in sharp decline, is suffering the repercussions of its CEO’s controversial decisions.
