Mariupol fighters ask Elon Musk for help
At least one of the fighters entrenched in the steel plant besieged by Russian forces in the Ukrainian city of Mariupol has appealed to billionaire Elon Musktohelp them be evacuated.

Since the beginning of the Russian invasion of Ukraine, Ukrainian fighters have been standing up to Vladimir Putin’s army in theAzovstal plant inMariupol, the martyred city almost completely destroyed by relentless strikes.

These fighters, some of whom are wounded after weeks of shelling, are the last inhabitants of the port city of Donetsk Oblast.

It was on Twitter that the commander of the marines Serhiy Volina called out Elon Musk, the richest man in the world.

Ukrainian officials say about 1,000 fighters are holding out inAzovstal‘s many underground tunnels, with hundreds seriously wounded and in need of urgent evacuation. The plant remains under heavy Russian fire.

Last March, when Ukraine’s Internet was disrupted as a result of the Russian invasion, Elon Musk came to Ukraine’s aid by offering the country his SpaceX Starlink satellite broadband Internet service. He then provided Ukrainian fighters with terminals that allowed them to better compete against the Russian military.
