Pickton had been convicted of murdering nine women in 2007, after being accused of killing 26.
He claimed to have killed 49, which may unfortunately be true, as the DNA of 33 women was found on his farm in Port Coquitlam, Vancouver, on the heels of his arrest.
Pickton was incarcerated at the maximum-security prison in Port-Cartier, Quebec.
He died at the age of 74.
